Project 6 - Josh Parks

Project
1. I liked the idea that the mask was carried around with the layer it was attached to. Just refining the edges of a selection can be a hassle because in order to keep it around you would have to save the selection separately as well as the issue that you can't go back on things. Your changes are stuck with you, but with a mask you can always choose to include more or less of the background at a moment's notice.
2. I was hoping to add more animation to my subjects. I think keeping things natural is a difficult task, but I can see some success coming from a random warping that happens to create an effect that you weren't planning on but ultimately looks really good.
3. The quick mask comes in handy for focused alterations. It can be used to alter the appearance of a single section from a larger scene. The mask palette seems to be more involved and should be used for heavy lifting. I definitely see a lot of opportunity with hair and clothes when it comes to using the quick mask.
4. I think the channels section was easy enough to get through but there is a serious learning curve if you wish to become proficient in them. They seem to require a lot of feel that only comes with time and experience. They definitely are powerful though.
5. My favorite shortcut this week was definitely using the brackets in order to increase or decrease the size of my brushes and selection wands. I was really excited to learn about that because even going through the right-click menu was becoming time consuming.
