PAUL WILLIAMS --------- PROJECT 4

INTO ANOTHER WORLD:

The base image stared with a level of 'surrealism' that I felt would lend itself to the level of surrealism I wished to achieve.

Even though I had a minds image of what I wanted, I found it necessary to change the order of layers and as a result the complexity of photoshops layer system. Consiquently, in order to get a fairly representative 'reflextion' imagem of both the sky and of the portal I ended up with a multiplicity, of layers with a variety of styles most of which I ended up deleting.

Again I had to overlay a cutout in the forground to hide some of the reflection.

1. Which blend modes did you experiment with and then use in your project?
For this part of the Web Project, I am experimenting primarily with lighting effects. Other modes are to                abstract for 'surrealistic images.
2. How did you use the stacking order to produce your final results in your most complex composite?
This is not my most complex composite but it does have complex layering. Even though my layer order defines placement within the composite, it was necessary to move the foreground overlay out of its folder and place it in a different folder.
3. What layer effects did you use? Which layer styles did you apply to another layer?
I chose not to apply any of the effects that I experimented with.
4. What key elements of layer managements in this module that you plan to use in future projects?
Instead of each image having its own layer, the process and sequence will determine the names and position of layers.
5. What challenges did you experience in the process?
     Nothing specific.
