Anthony's Project 7

1. Please describe your preferred method of creating text and the layer effects to make it stand out.
Messing with text in Photoshop is pretty fun. I like warping the text differently, and I usually use bevel/emboss, drop shadow, and/or outer or inner glow. Applying gradients can make it stand out.
2. In which way did you like results from using clipping masks for text and shapes? Do you think you will use them in future projects? Why or why not?
They work as advertised, and are simple to do. I can see them being useful in web design for making logos and banners.
3. What was your experience using the pen tool to create selections? Were you able to modify your selection with the path adjustment tools?
I feel like I got the hang of it very quickly. The book lesson helped. Modifying paths for type isn't too hard, but on selections like the Tut mask, I found it easier to just "undo" when I messed up.
4. What challenges did you experience using the shape tools? Did you create a custom shape? What was it?
The shape tools are easy to use and if you apply layer effects they can look pretty neat. I did make a custom shape, it was the candycorn on the Halloween image.
5. How will you use Smart Objects in future projects?
I'm not sure. I suppose if I was making a poster or doing something for print it would be useful.
6. What keyboard shortcuts are you using regularly now?
Same ones I've been using. I don't think I mentioned before using "shift" to keep transformations proportionate, and "alt" for duplicating selections, layers, effects, etc..
