1. The rulers and guides were a great tool for me. I'm a very structured thinker and designer and I feel most of my designs will rely heavily on these types of tools. I'm not too confident in my ability to free hand very often.
2. I really like combining the graphic pen and brushes. It created a really neat effect that could easily create a different feel or approach to any graphic, especially the more basic ones.
3. Didn't quite follow the reasoning behind smart objects because I don't think that far into a concept before I start playing with them. They were easy enough to use but I was disappointed with the struggles it took to add certain effects I was used to (i.e. layer effects). I did like that I could add the effects before hand and have them become part of the object.
4. I heavily rely on layer effects. They are my favorite way to make a particular layer jump off the screen. I haven't used the filters too much, especially not on photographs of people so that was interesting to consider the effect I could add such as motion and blurriness to a moving object.
5. My favorite shortcut by far has been using the [ ] brackets to alter the size of my selection tool. I'm very used to right clicking and changing my brush size so when that option wasn't available on the selection tools it was nice to know there was another way to easily increase/decrease their size.
