1. What did you find most interesting about using these features of Photoshop?
I've never really used brushes for anything other than silly effects like adding mustaches to people but I found there are a lot of possibilities with just their preset brushes. The effects you can add can change the mood of the photo, completely alter the scenery or create focus areas within your photos. While researching online, I was surprised to see it is possible to create your own brushes. I think that opens a whole new world of opportunities to create a distinct style like no other graphic designers.
2. What challenges did you experience in the process?
I mostly struggled with the imagination part of things. I found myself scrolling through different brushes and randomly swiping my screen until I saw something that I thought I could build off of. Outside of that, keeping a steady hand ended up being a much harder task than I could have imagined.
3. How would you use these tools in future projects?
I see a lot of opportunity to add a distinct style to my projects. Whether I am aiming for a graphic novel type effect or I want to highlight particular areas of my picture, I see there are many tools that will help me create those effects. A lot of tools look like they will offer amazing help with covering up blemishes or less those than desirable effects pictures can sometimes have.
